What is an E27 LED bulb?
An E27 type bulb, is available in different types of bulbs, such as halogen bulbs, incandescent bulbs and LED bulbs. The number 27 stands for the diameter of this bulb's socket, which is 27 millimetres. Logical!
E27 bulbs are often used in homes as ceiling lamps, table lamps and floor lamps. It is important to check carefully in advance that you are buying the right fitting for your fixture. This will ensure that your new lamp will fit into the socket of your old lamp.
The nice thing about E27 bulbs is that they are easy to replace and install. You simply screw the new bulb into a fitting until it is firmly in place. It's that easy.
What do E27 bulbs look like?
As we wrote earlier, E27 bulbs have a diameter of 27 millimetres. As a result, these bulbs generally have a wide, round base.
Although the diameter of each E27 bulb's socket is identical, each bulb does have a specific shape and style. These can be different depending on the type of bulb, for example a halogen bulb, an incandescent bulb or an LED bulb. The brand of the bulb also determines its appearance.
E27 bulbs are available in different wattages, shapes (e.g. candle-shaped or spherical) and light colours (e.g. warm, cool, white...). Depending on what you like and what you prefer, you can choose an E27 bulb.
Switching to E27 Led bulbs
Although some people spontaneously start shivering or trembling at the very thought of changing bulbs, changing bulbs is not that difficult at all. Moreover, it is well worth the little effort it takes to change a bulb!
Suppose, for example, that you currently live in a house that only has halogen bulbs - whether E27 type or not - it is a very smart idea to replace all these bulbs with E27 Led bulbs. This is because Led bulbs are much cheaper and better than halogen and incandescent bulbs.
For instance, E27 Led bulbs consume much less power because they can convert power into light easier and better. They are also more resistant to fire hazards and have less negative impact on the environment. This is because they last longer and they also do not contain toxic substances.
Replacing a halogen or incandescent bulb with an LED bulb is really child's play. In just a few minutes, the installation is complete and you can enjoy more beautiful and better light - which also uses less electricity. Great!
Are E27 bulbs dimmable?
Certainly, E27 bulbs are dimmable, at least if you choose the dimmable types. Not every lamp has a dimmer function, so you should check carefully during your purchase whether your favourite lamp has this function.
At ET48, we always clearly state whether the lamp is dimmable or not. That way, you do not make a wrong purchase and can quickly make a choice.
As with ordinary E27 bulbs, dimmable types are also quick and easy to install. The installation of a dimmable E27 lamp takes just a bit more time, but it is well worth it! After all, it's always nice to cosily dim your lamps in the evening while watching a series.
